Just wanted to say congrats to you for running this time at Pacific Raceway. The day you raced at that track wasn't freezing cold but the temps was around 65F. Not too bad either. Humidity was in the low 50F range, which was cool too. I notice the track layout is from north to south. The wind that day was blowing from north to south at around 10mph or so. While you were doing your 1/4 mile run (Ticket showed 6:08pm), there was a 16mph gust of wind blowing in the same direction as you were racing (North to South). This gust of wind blow was recorded at around 5:53pm. HERE
I have to look at details like this since I am going after this 1/4 mile time in the CVT once I get it. It's all in good fun. I just thought that was.....interesting.
Well that link takes me to a weather page showing the Renton Municipal Airport which is 14 miles NNW from Pacific Raceways as the crow flies (looking up Kent, WA brings up SeaTac Intl Airport about 14 miles NW) and also shows the 13th of June when I actually raced on the 15th. On top of that the airport is near a large body of water and generally pretty open all around it without much to block the wind, while the track is in a pretty heavily wooded area. Also, the track runs east to west, not north to south. If you want to put any N/S direction to it, it actually goes south to north... but barely.
I looked up the airport you linked to and at 6:06 which is closer the the 6:08 time of my run it shows an ESE wind of 4.6 while SeaTac showed SSE of 9.2 at 5:53 (dont have another data point until 6:25 there). Neither would help me while I am racing WNW basically right into the wind if it indeed made it through the trees. Temps look right around 60 degrees.
And to answer your youtube comment, I had runs in the 14s because this was my first time ever racing this car at the track, and I was pretty much improving with each one.
