Or even better, go ahead and record the existing camera's feed somewhere accessible. Like Tesla did. My Civic has three cams from the factory. No reason that video couldn't be saved to a USB drive.
Right, the cards don't lose data, per se, but if the camera is in the middle of a file system metadata write operation and the power cuts out, then the file system on the card can be corrupted. Especially since all these cams use VFAT filesystem, which is particularly susceptible to corruption.
All the cams I have seen require power from the car. They usually come with a car power adapter (12v cig lighter) and have USB on the other end. The hardwire kits have different features / capabilities. Some allow the camera to record after the car is off. Some can sense if the car battery is...
Yep, as @MarshX said, the capacitor model are the way to go. I went through three battery powered cams of various makes. Always failed after the summer heat took its toll.
These regularly go on sale for $50

It's not very user friendly, and no way to add photos. But it's free at least. Personally, I keep a journal and spreadsheet in google docs, along with scans of all my receipts.
This is the Honda Care Extended Warranty. The warranty has already paid for itself after the EPS sensor failed, requiring the power steering rack to be replaced.
FYI, I had mine repaired at Tameron Honda Eastern Shore. It's about 45 min from P'cola, so that would be about the right amount of drive to warm up the car. They are very familiar with the issue, and my service adviser told me that they had done several of these jobs already. Her name is Lesley...
Just got it back from the dealer. They replaced they whole EPS rack, but the problem was in the torque angle sensor. Service manager explained that the sensor can only be replaced with the whole EPS rack.
The difference is night and day. I guess it was a gradual degradation of the steering and...
My steering was so bad that after 30 minutes of driving you had to fight to keep the car going straight. When ever you try to make a small adjustment, you have to pull hard to overcome the EPS, then it over-corrects, making you look like a drunk driver.
Took it the dealer and they said there...
If it were alignment, then it would be there 100% of the time. This only happens after driving for for 30-45 mins. You should read through the linked thread. There are several descriptions of the same issue.
I am also having this issue. My 2016 EX has about 55,000 miles. I bought a Honda Care extended warranty, which is about to payout in my favor for this fix.
But this is sounding more and more like a recall-worthy issue.
