Haven't really heard real bad complaints about torque steer in the Type R reviews. It uses a special dual axis strut front suspension to help dial out torque steer.
Yup some of the senior guys here were the first to spot that these mules have an ILX front with a euro hatch back end. Lots of us are eagerly waiting for the actual prototypes with newly styled body to be spotted. Was hoping that was in the video when I saw the headline. :(
Have you seen or felt the new car in person yet? Yea sure it's a possibility the quality isn't great, but none of us have so none of us can really talk about the quality of the 10th gen. The admin and members that saw it at the reveals all said it was high quality, so I'll go off those for now...
Well the point is that sometimes in dialing out the drone and road noise they also take out the things that add to the driving experience like engine and exhaust noise. It's no fun trying to drive a car that doesn't give any feedback like engine sounds etc. And these sound enhancers try to add...
Not to mention the longer wheelbase which might be good for comfort and high speed stability but usually means less nimble handling. But the 25% stiffer body and lower height is better for handling on the other hand. I'd hate to be an engineer at an auto company trying to make cars more refined...
impressive #s from that GM 4 cyl for the Camaro. Only thing I can say against turbo engines is that no matter which turbo'd car I've driven I can still feel some lag. Hope the 1.5L and/or 2.0L ones we're gonna see for this next gen are pretty lag free. Also why I'll definitely need a manual...
Now that you mention it, it's the back window rake makes the coupe's rear roofline look so good. Looks like we're going to sacrifice some visibility and maybe rear headroom for styling?
I think it's already expected that the sedan and coupe will all be bit bigger than the current models.
BOOM there it is. Black out the chrome grill piece and window trim and you could have an even sportier look. Would go well with those two tone wheels - which are real nice btw.
Looks a little like an electric car with the air intakes all still taped up like that. Hope they're nice and aggressive underneath like on the green concept car.
I noticed halogen lights... will LED lights be a possible option or standard on the EX-L?
But consider what kind of performance it gives you at even a mid-30's price point. It beats a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 around the nurburgring and that car costs 5x the price. And that's just the current Type R. The one for Gen X will be even faster!
Here's the list of cars it beat...
McLaren F1 driver Fernando Alonso apparently just took delivery of one of the first new Civic Type R. Posted this on his instagram and twitter. He's also waiting to take delivery of the new NSX. Lucky dude...
That's the Type R based on the current Civic, which we won't be getting in the US. The next Type R based on the 10th gen Civic is coming in a few years. That's the one we'll finally get in US. I expect it to beat the current Type R in every which way - performance and styling.
