  1. Hatchback Sport front lip is not built for speed

Possibly. I've driven faster than I was going when this happened. It is quite possible clips had somehow broke off or became brittle in all this heat, and air was entering from somewhere. Not really sure.
  2. Hatchback Sport front lip is not built for speed

The way you're describing it makes me think possibly there was a bunch of air coming in from a gap in the layered plastics of the undercarriage, and possibly over time it was pulling and weakening the clips all around. It doesn't look like that little OEM lip would generate enough force to break...
  3. Hatchback Sport front lip is not built for speed

Again? Are you aware this kind of stuff doesn't happen in adult forums where people try to share information? What does it matter? Take the info or don't. Guy's over here analyzing photos for numbers and helmets.... Lol And yes, I'm aware this is an Econobox... which is why I bought it to get...
  4. Hatchback Sport front lip is not built for speed

What does it matter? I'm not going to condone, encourage, or admit to speeding. I know many of us do it, but the forum rules say we're not supposed to talk about illegal actions on the road. I'm trying to spread a little bit of awareness that this part CAN fail.... maybe it's a 1 in 100,000 unit...
  5. Hatchback Sport front lip is not built for speed

Nothing at all. It was very sudden as I was accelerating to a high rate of speed.
  6. Hatchback Sport front lip is not built for speed

There are two sets of clips. One set runs along the front of the lip and clip to the bumper, and another set run along the back of lip and connect to a lot of the undercarriage plastics, and the undercarriage covers are also clipped to your wheel well liners. Failure point was all the front...
  7. Hatchback Sport front lip is not built for speed

That's what I would normally think too, but as I described the vehicle has never experienced any damage or impacts, which includes parking too close to a curb and running the lip up over the ledge (which is how most lips become loose). Additionally, I live alone and nobody has ever driven this...
  8. Hatchback Sport front lip is not built for speed

TLDR: Civic Hatchback Sport front lip cannot take the repeated downforce created by sustained 100+mph cruising. - My 2017 Civic Hatchback Sport was in excellent condition. I've owned it since new and I am very anal about my cars. No dings, no scratches, no curbed wheels and I park very far away...
  9. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Thanks for the info! I negotiated with Honda in Surprise, AZ. Quite laughable. I even told the sales guy I sell cars for BMW when he asked what I do for a living. They had $5k in "accessories" on the car, which I applauded them for at least adding some value instead of a straight-up $5k market...
  10. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Any dealers in Arizona selling at MSRP? Went to the new store in Suprise, AZ. That was definitely a no-go
  11. Have anyone Dyno the 10th gen si yet stock

Heh, that's the bullsh** marketing flyer that comes with an AEM CAI. It's fake. They're trying to show their product gives you gains.
  12. 2017 Civic Paint Issue

I have the same spots on my 2017 Polished Metal Hatchback Sport. There's 2 or 3 of them. Definitely frustrating. I read this entire thread, and it seems some members have had success removing the spots with buffing and polishing. So far I only have 6,000 miles on my car, so I haven't buffed or...
  13. "Make your own Civic Si" article by road and track.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/videos/a33372/make-your-own-civic-si-using-this-simple-tune-for-a-base-civic-hatch/ What do you guys think? They mention only $695 to make hatchback Si, but honestly you'll have to add in at least the cost of the LSD. That LSD probably makes more of a...
  14. Removing shield from under car

Don't do it. You're going to find a hole in your radiator or IC if you're turbo. You'd be shocked how easily a small rock will puncture a hole in both at relatively low speeds.
  15. My Mpg has been rather poor on my Sport Hatch.

I've never gotten more than 260 or 270 miles out of a full tank. I only use 91 octane in my HB Sport CVT. I was actually fairly shocked by this. I know I have a lead foot, but I thought I'd get a bit more. With that being said, it's still a big cost savings over my previous car. The civic...
  16. Now that's it's Official any CIVICX feel regrets or trading theirs in for the Type R?

For me, time was a major factor. My previous car was totaled in an accident and I needed to get back on the road. However, even if the Type R had been available at the time of my purchase, I would not have bought the Type R. The price of the Type-R is too much $ for a FWD vehicle that size. I'm...
  17. Hatchback rear visibility

Just because you have an opinion doesn't make it correct. Sure, it may be valid based upon your personal experience, but it can still be entirely incorrect. 17 replies have been issued to your opinion and inquiry. Of those 17 replies, only 1 person semi-agreed with your opinion, while the other...
  18. Can you tell colors from VIN?

Are you trying to say you don't like my polished metal hatchback? You have hurt my feelings, sir. ;)
  19. Apple carplay

Also, can someone confirm that the iPhone must be connected via USB in order to work? Meaning it can't just be Bluetooth, correct?
