To answer that specific question in the OP -- it might have been bashed slightly less than it was, only because of the less-radical exterior compared to the 10th gen (i.e. 11th is somewhat closer to the 9th gen, in terms of looks/plastic inserts which as I recall were a huge "negative" at the...
@James3spearchucker @xbbnx I'm so sorry guys, I don't know what I was smoking there, but I confused the mileage with our other car ?
The Si is currently at only 44,183 miles. Covid and all...
Only scheduled maintenance so far.
Sorry for the confusion!
Close to 120K, and no issues whatsoever! (knocking on wood...)
*Edit* -- apologies for the confusion, the Si is at 44,183 miles; 118K is on a different car ?
Still here, since June 2017; got it within a month or so of the model's first availability in my state/area. It's been awesome; definitely the best-handling car I've ever had... Planning to drive it for as long as it'll last!
The only times I noticed the rev hang were the rare occasions when I had gotten it closer to 5K RPM before shifting. Then yeah you need to wait a second or two (although you don't even have to wait, if shifting immediately is somehow an emergency).
But 99% of the time I shift waaaay before the...
I would suggest taking one of your wheels off and putting it in the trunk for side -- see what that feels like. I tried it... That thing takes like a third of your truck space! That was the main reason I went with the smaller one, FWIW.
Consider how infrequently you're gonna actually use the...
The only problem I have with it is the design one. If you are listening to radio or are on a phone call (or other Bluetooth engagement), it is not possible to shut off the engine and continue to listen without interruption. Other than that ludicrous design flaw, it's been great.
I don't park in the sun normally, but the few times I did it did get pretty warm, but manageable and definitely not anywhere near how hot the OEM metal top can get. It also seemed to cool down a lot faster, although I haven't really measured/timed anything to properly compare the two. Just...
Could it be that the truck tried to stop/pull over to pick up that weird-looking piece on the side of the road?
Notice his brake lights come on before he swerves left -- if he was just trying to prevent the guy from passing, would it not make a lot more sense for him to maintain his speed, or...
...unless you're on a long steep uphill. It's about the load (i.e. asking the engine to do too much), not about some specific/absolute RPM numbers IMHO.
The LSD (and suspension), hands down. Most of the other things/features are available in a lot of other cars, but the road feel in the Si is only maybe met (or exceeded) by very, very few cars, -- and, I'm pretty sure none of them are in the same price range.
Btw thanks for a positive thread...
O.M.G. looking at those pictures, it is nothing short of a miracle that she is OK! So glad to hear that. Thanks for sharing, and best of luck & quick recovery to her.
I never said it "can't be" all three; I was questioning the need for the extra effort/resources put into making it look better. Just don't think it's important, but of course to each their own. Sure, if you constantly find yourself in situations where your car sits around in public with an...
When a production version of a car driven on Nurburgring results in the kind of numbers this CTR reported, I think that alone is enough to answer your question definitively -- with a resounding 'yes'.
There are actually laws in some states specifically telling people to move over if they're blocking traffic, even if they're already speeding. The problem is that:
a) most people are not aware of them and they aren't even mentioned to the kids in driving schools when they get their license (I...
