  1. Good All-Season Tires?

Heh. My car came stock with 17s, and I’m still on the original TIRES. ? If you go with wider wheels than stock, you could step up to as much as 235, but 225s are probably the biggest I would go. The right tires would probably outdo the car! For my winter tires, I use 16” steel rims and the size...
  2. Good All-Season Tires?

My Talon had gotten like that, though it wasn’t so bad with AWD. Turned out the rear wheels had excessive camber, enough to wear the inside of the tires down to the belts. So I’d think you’d notice if it was THAT bad
Like you said, worth checking. Heck, if you checked it first, you might be...
  3. Flames on Deceleration

As opposed to making experienced, knowledgable members not wanting to bother contributing when they’re told they’re ‘useless and unwanted’ in a toxic, disrespectful manner? ?‍♂ Now who would have done THAT? Dude, you’re talking to yourself. It’s worrying. Please stop. ? (Or include the quote...
  4. Overboost... pls help

That would be understandable (throttle plate). A better diverter valve (not a blow-off valve) might help that.
  5. Gaz price

Yesss. Wouldn’t it be even BETTER if we had ELECTRIC cars? Hmmm
 ? ‘Pandemic’
yeah. Everything seems to be quite convenient, though someone pointed out Putin’s actions have secured a Russian hold on most of the newly-discovered oil fields in the Ukraine. I do believe in Hanlon’s Razor...
  6. Good All-Season Tires?

Was just going to say everything @Benster just said. New tires/wheels? No alignment needed unless you see something strange. Or in your case, as it shouldn’t be THAT unstable in the rear. New shocks/bushings/control arms? Alignment highly recommended after any of those.
  7. Flames on Deceleration

6-8 psi? The LX motor will be stressed, but I wouldn’t expect failure at that level if you have it set up correctly. The problem is if something else goes a little wrong, the consequences come much more quickly
As for the flames? Well, they did dedicate an entire mini-scene to it in ‘The Fast...
  8. Good All-Season Tires?

If you‘re REALLY serious about ‘all-around’ driving, sell the 18s for a set of 17s. You won’t lose much handling, the tires are a bit cheaper and you’ll have more selection. ANY tire can handle the type of driving you mention. Most people here are still talking expensive tires, but most of them...
  9. Skid shield removal to change oil?

You order them online, like anything else. I know Tire Rack has a network of places that can install them, so might be able to deliver them there. Or you take delivery and then go to your preferred tire shop for mounting and balancing. I’ve always liked Continental tires. If a tire is really...
  10. Gaz price

    Oh, I know
But even though most Americans get a larger pay check, they also face a high 5-figure bill every time they break a bone
 ?
  11. Gaz price

Strange how the gas prices didn’t spike like this during the two Gulf wars
 ?
  12. Skid shield removal to change oil?

LOL! Well, if they can make a rally car out of the 911
? I would think that’s a new tire, so most places probably haven’t received any yet. What about Tire Rack or another online place?
  13. Skid shield removal to change oil?

Do you mean the Pilot Sport All-Season 4?
  14. Gaz price

If you can run it. You’ll probably lose 15% mileage or so, but the price can still make it worth it. I’d say this shouldn’t last much longer, but with the run up to EVs taking over, this is the ‘shock’ they use to make people not notice when prices settle
being a bit higher than they were before.
  15. Gaz price

Less wages, but much of our health care is taken care of. To a mid-grade US hospital standard, anyway.
  16. ContiProContact vs DWS06+

At least they put it right. It astounds me how ‘green’ some apprentice mechanics can be. I learned most of that stuff before I was 12! Though, since it’s an asymmetrical tread, I wonder how much of a difference it would have made?
  17. Turbo Question

Since someone didn’t appreciate my first comment, I’ll abbreviate. I’m willing to bet I’ve rebuilt more engines and cars and done more port work than most people here. So, I ‘may’ know a little bit about your ‘turbo sound’. Not that I’d be willing to offer any help to someone that only seems to...
  18. Which intake or air filter for more mileage?

I’m not the one being insulting
 Physics is physics.
  19. ContiProContact vs DWS06+

If they installed all four tires ‘backwards’
couldn’t you have just swapped sides for the wheels? ?
  20. Gaz price

Was told gas was going up again another dime tonight. That will make it $1.86/L for 87.
