LOVE the center exhaust. So glad they kept that from the Civic Concept Coupe!
The Si coupe is gonna look so aggressive once the camouflage comes off... just look at how big those front intakes are.
Nice review for sure.
"The engine feels strong, showing just a bit of turbo lag, but the CVT is tuned to keep the four in its meaty torque band, so under normal operation the drivetrain is smooth and quiet. It’s only when you really floor it does the engine drone, but at least the car is...
Would like to hear an exhaust clip of the custom exhaust system. Thanks.
Curious what kind of sounds can be extracted from the 2.0L or 1.5T. Which one is this?
Really does sound like they took the younger and more sport-drive focused demographic of coupe buyers into account when making the coupe. Sportier suspension, lower height, shorter body, lighter... all by design.
I'm ok if the Si comes in just coupe and sedan models. That's what we've had...
This is slightly off topic but anyone else think find it weird that the 2016 model year has vehicles built off of two different platforms? The 2016 Civic which is the next generation and the 2016 Type R which is off the old platform. I know it's the European version essentially but that is going...
Sounds like you don't like variable ratio steering. I'm not a huge fan of electric steering either but when variable ratio is done right, it can feel decent.
I'm with Fluffy. Given the choice I'd take a nice looking physical speedo over a digital one. Digital ones just remind me of playing a video game.
Would also prefer mechanical steering like most enthusiasts, but not sure we're gonna see that again, which is sad. Electric steering is getting...
Wow baby NSX would be sweet. Never read any rumors about such a car before. I was always hoping Honda would come out with something to take on the new Supra that Toyota is preparing. This would not only match but be even better than that car.
I thought those ads were good and very different from most car ads. I'd like to see Honda appeal to the younger crowd with their marketing for the new Civic.
Anyone know the average age of Civic buyers?
Nah there'd be too much of a gap between the sub-Si models and the Type R. And why get rid of a model that's now famous? That'd be making changes for the sake of making changes IMO.
Unless they thought they would sell boatloads of them then maybe it would be worth the investment in a slightly unique body shape? Hell even the Prius has multiple body lines now...
I bet there's lots of other people who were thinking the same as you and are now thrilled with the Type R coming. Really too bad neither company announced years ago, their copy cat game would have brought us both cars earlier.
The rear on the production coupe might actually look better than the concept's. The lower bumper bodywork is actually more aggressive and the concept's rear bumper actually looks more like the production sedan's. They basically changed like 5% of the concept only. Amazing translation to...
Yessss looks like they're sticking close to the concept!!! Is it me or does the side profile look even better on the production model than the concept?
