Thanks for getting up close and personal. Did they drive the car around at all? I'd like to see the car in motion, it gives you a better feel for stance and ride.
I prefer the top width tail light, not sure why they got rid of it for the refresh and I'm glad they (seem) to be bringing back the full width design for the Gen X. The Gen 9 tails are pretty vanilla looking IMO. It's curious they went through all this trouble to hide the new taillight design as...
It makes more sense that way. Why spend the cost to homologate/certify the 9th gen car for the global market in its last model year when the Civic X is right around the corner.
Every car looks like crap with camouflage. It's like the same cycle, every time a new spy photo comes out people say it looks terrible. I remember same thing happening with the C7 spy pics and then everyone was blown away seeing it in the metal.
It is interesting to me about the Si going turbo for this next platform. To me that just means a lot more out of the box room moddability, just turn up the boost for cheap power. I never thought of it as a "heritage" issue for the Si but I guess that is true.
As for the Si crowd bashing the...
Would love to see it in the Type R. The current digital speedo is positioned central and pushed forward almost has a HUD feel to it. I like the way it looks but HUD would be a cool premium feature.

All affordable cars attract young buyers. I don't know the breakdown but I bet Civics of old have all sold to a large % of young people. Making it sporty and fun will actually bring in enthusiasts which is what really matters to me.......
A lot of these picture sets look staged by Honda. Which makes the choice of ILX front end even more curious, I guess they are having some fun with the media.
We know the Si is coming in the next generation and I'm glad for it. It's a great alternative for those who can't afford the Type R but still want more stock performance than the base Civic has to offer. The Type R will always be a niche seller so I think they should have no problems keeping the...
I thought they said the sedan would debut in the Fall? Not sure if that jives well with an LA auto show debut in very late November. I guess they still have time if it is released pretty soon after or announce availability at the show. I also could be wrong but I thought it was mentioned the...
I agree with you, the profile looks too similar to the sedan in the spy photos. I'm hoping there is a lot of padding in the back. The current 9th gen Type R 5 door is a sexy beast.. if Honda is trying to bring sporty back to the Civic with this next generation, it's gotta nail this hatch back...
