  1. Finally got my CW CTR today. She's a beaut!

    Congratulations!! She's gorgeous!!
  2. Civic Type R #1037 in Polished Metal Metallic

You know I'm a fan, buddy. Can't wait to see it in person soon! Now the mileage gap in our S2000's is only going to increase lol. Congrats again!
  3. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

I do believe that the 20 inch rims are excessive, as I stated above. If there's one thing I think we can all agree on, it's that the car is likely not going to be perfect in every way for everyone. While I might not want the sensing like you guys do, I do agree that the wheels are a bit much and...
  4. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

Nope I don't want sensing, nor would I like the 20" rims, they seem excessive to me, but it is what it is. I bought my CR with AC/Radio, not the deleted model because I do like basic creature comforts. You're just reaching now.
  5. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

Go back and read, it was his suggestion/idea, nothing that I said I was doing one way or the other. I was responding to him. You do know that it is easy to do those things if one were inclined to do so. I personally prefer an OEM car, which would not lead me to do those things.
  6. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

If I do, I'll post up, but I was following his line of thought... his idea/comment, not mine.
  7. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

I don't understand the question though since you're talking about tech features that have no correlation to ripping out a speaker system or $2k on wheels? Those are different things... if I had the tech, I'd still have to rip that stuff out and get the wheels to your point... and btw the tech...
  8. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

Then let's discuss the flip side of this debate and tell me why it's so important to you to have all of those electronics/features/safety? You're so adamant that they HAVE to be in the car and that Honda has wronged you in some fashion because Europe gets it and you don't, that you're now...
  9. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

And we both know that no one is getting that today, short of spending more money for a more expensive car. So, this is a good starting platform if someone were to get that serious. I know it's been 16 years since the ITR, but everyone forgets what the Type-R badge is supposed to represent.
  10. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

Easy changes compared to getting rid of tech that has zero purpose for the track, regardless of weight. But keep 'em coming.
  11. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

 Agreed 100% with what you said, and I think the real issue was your final statement in that post. Sad but true. Anyone who wants to point to how cars are today with tech, etc are still missing the point. I'm just glad to see there are still some people who get it on this site. Best...
  12. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

IMO (which it's just that, my opinion), yes they did it wrong in Europe. It's a Type-R, none of those "features" do a thing to help the performance of the car and this is an unapologetic, no compromise, track oriented car. Clearly this is not the car for many of you in here... someone...
  13. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

If those safety features are a deal breaker for you, then I question how serious you really were about this to begin with. I would expect a Lotus Exige owner to be in agreement with the things I said... those are absolutely no frills sports cars.
  14. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

Again, not moronic, Honda is doing it right and wising up to the fact that they made the previous car soft compared to what the Type-R has always represented in the past and what it should represent moving forward. They nailed it, it's amazing to me how many people in here can't understand...
  15. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

Yes, it is, you clearly don't understand the heritage of the Type-R
  16. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

lol you guys are unbelievable about the "missing tech"... THIS IS A GOOD THING! It's a Type-R, the R stands for Race/Racing, this is a TRACK car. Type-R's have always been purpose built do to one thing, go fast around a track. Anything that works against that or is unnecessary (like all tech...
  17. Officially Revealed: 2017 Honda Civic Type R with 306 hp / 295 lb-ft

Minus the adaptive cruise control, I couldn't be more happy to hear that we are NOT getting these things. I think people forget this is supposed to be a track oriented car... those things are completely unnecessary in a track car. Honda did it right for us as far as I'm concerned.
  18. Production 2018 Civic Type R Official Leaked Pictures

Lookin' good, can't wait till next week when we get more info
  19. Swapping Trunks

^^ This To each their own, but that spoiler is an integral part of the aerodynamics and performance of this car, I don't know why you would want to remove it? If it's too ricey or too much for you, I'd say you're looking at purchasing the wrong car, that's what the CTR is all about.
  20. DD the CTR?

And while I am by no means complaining and extremely happy to have the CTR coming, Honda will REALLY be back when we have a whole slew of options to choose from... S2000, Prelude, Integra, CRX, etc. But those days are long gone now.
