Now that I've moved on, I have mixed memories of my 10th gen Si. I found it extremely dependable with no needed repairs.
What drew me to the 10th gen Civic Si was it's "boy racer looks". As a former "Vette" owner I expect my vehicle to reflect my preference to be different and stand out as...
I've already moved on. Back to RWD and 2 doors. It has the same 1/4 mile time and H.P. as my 1985 C4 Corvette. 0-60 is a few tenths faster, but then loses the advantage due to lack of displacement.
Looking to getting an Ascent for bulk transportation.
My garage kept Si had it's battery last just over two years or 25,000 miles. Threw in an Auto Zone battery and it was still going strong when it sold it back to the dealer after five years and 99,250 miles.
After 4 years of Si ownership, I'm still trying to figure out which car is more fun. Comfort, Si. Acceleration, Vette. The experience of being in the car, Vette. Milage, Si. Handling, I'm still working at this one.
Same wheel size, same brake size, same swaybar size on a slightly bigger and heavier vehicle. I'm sure the stiffer links make up for the difference. I'm really interested to see if the tested performance numbers are all that different.
I'm so happy for those excited for the new 11th gen., but I'll wait to see what the 12th gen. looks like.
Until then, I hope that single mass flywheel fits on our 10th gen.
I've been looking for a "Honda Shop" in the Charlotte area too. Most of the places I ask about specialize in Accords or crossovers, and want to use "genuine Honda parts" only. For that I can take it to the dealer.
WOT= Wide Open Throttle.
You've never floored your throttle? How did you get the secondary of the four barrel to open? Wait, have you even driven a carbureted car? There are some things the computer won't tell the car to do unless you're all the way "open". Just be sure you've got lots of room...
No!
As much as I hate driving a four door, the tenth gen does a good job of being aggressive at it. Something the eleventh gen has backed away from.
Also I miss a good strong launch. Something I'll be looking for in my next car.
Right now I've got my eye on the new Santa Cruz, but I have no...
Thank you for not pushing the self destruct button.
Seriously, it is not stock. If you didn't add it then hope the dealer did as one of their "extras". You don't leave the car unlocked do you?
Between what I've experienced for the last four years and 95,000 miles, and what I've read on this forum, this seems to be the bottom line as I've experienced it.
Tune it and leave the boost to factory values. You'll love the car as that is what it should of been tuned to at the factory. Make...
It's a Honda. It should easily reach 200,000 miles, and with some care maybe 300,000 miles. If you baby it, and use it mostly for highway, somebody has a 10th gen with 500,000 miles on it.
Resale is another story.
I'm planning on going with the HFP suspension when my stock shocks wear out. We'll see if I like them or not. But like WOPSiWOT says, the difference in price between the two is so close, why not try the enhancement.
