  2. What did you drive before your 10th Gen Civic?

I wanted a GT, but I could only afford an SE back then. I've owned 32 cars so far and that '95 Probe was one of my favorites. All I have to remember it by are this crappy photo and a scan of the window sticker.

  5. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

Honda doesn't service vehicles nor do they receive any portion of any labor charges including diagnostic fees - that's all your independently-owned dealer. Honda has no control over what dealers charge for automobiles, parts, or service.
  6. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Yep. Automakers and dealers have realized that they can make more money by selling fewer vehicles at higher prices. Expect leaner inventories and fewer discounts for the foreseeable future. I don't know if we'll ever see months' worth of inventory piled up on lots waiting for buyers and...
  7. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

That didn't work for Dodge eight years ago.
  8. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Supply and demand. When demand > supply, prices rise. When supply > demand, prices fall. That's economics 101. Automakers and dealers are bringing in record profits. Automakers don't have to offer incentives. Dealers can sell at or above MSRP (which, by the way, stands for Manufacturer's...
  9. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

I'm surprised at the level of wear/soil on the driver's armrest and center console for such low mileage.
  10. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

For better or worse, automakers have virtually no control over this. In 2014, Dodge threatened to reduce allocation to dealers who marked up SRT Hellcats over MSRP in a similar move. Dealers quickly found a workaround by auctioning off the chance to buy an SRT Hellcat at MSRP. Dodge threw in the...
  11. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

I can only imagine what dealers will ask for '22 CTR's. We're in a VERY different market now than we were when the '17 CTR was introduced.
  12. Civic Si in GS

Wheel hop is a function of suspension geometry among other mechanical things. The purpose of reprogramming the vehicle for wheel size is for the tire pressure monitoring system - it has to know which wheels are installed so it can use the correct peak resonance frequency to determine when a...
  13. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

I can't speak for other brands, but Honda doesn't add dye. Here's their latest TSB on the subject which specifies which dye to add, if necessary. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10181077-0001.pdf
  14. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

There's no dye in the system from the factory.
  15. NEW AC CONDENSER LEAKING TSB 19-091

Because air conditioning is not required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and the manufacturer has no legal obligation to fix it after the warranty expires.
  16. My A/C took a poop...*Dealership update*

The oldest 2019 Civics aren't quite 3 years old yet (4 more months), but it's quite possible to have more than 36,000 miles. Also, the refrigerant charge is only guaranteed for 2 years or 24,000 miles (unless required as part of a covered repair).
  17. Please read! Verified A/C issue with 1.5L

Just to add another data point... According to Honda's records, the A/C failed in my 2017 Civic Si at around 55K miles (long after I traded it in).
  18. Rev match steps safe?

I heard my name. :) Yes - the Si automatically rev matches for upshifts when the cruise control is engaged. The ECM gives you five seconds to complete the upshift while it holds the engine at the exact speed for the next higher gear else the cruise will cancel. Unlike the Type R, however, it...
