One car looks easier to drive and one looks more fun to drive. One also has one of the best NA engines ever made. ;)
Either way, great video and great driving.
I'm confused by this...are you simply in line to purchase the car and have 1st dibs?
If so, you don't own the car and presumably didn't sign any paperwork, so why not just let it go for the next guy in line and when you're ready to purchase, do it then?
FYI and IMHO - trying to flip the car...
Just an FYI - I'm not sure if it's common knowledge yet, but the CTR has landed in MB!
A local dealer just sold their CBP. Their CW is coming and will be ready and waiting on the showroom this weekend. I was just offered a chance to buy it. Ugh. I WAS planning on slapping some money down on...
OP - If it is truly 80% tires...why are you even worrying about them now? Just drive your car and figure it out when the time comes. By figure it out...I mean:
#1 - Buy an 18" wheel and tire combo for the street and leave the 20's for the track.
#2 - If you don't care about the track, buy a...
Get a good, experienced auto broker. Tell them to go on the hunt and find your car. Just be prepared to travel or have the car shipped.
I'm not just recommending this because I am one, but depending on who you get and how they run their ship, it makes a huge difference in getting your car...
OP - I'm not going to say anything about your purchase that already hasn't been said...
If you can afford the car and aren't up to your eyeballs in debt, that's what counts. If you are...consider your options.
OP - Getting back on topic...I'd say go test drive a few cars and see which you like best. If you can't get a hold of a Golf R, do the next best thing and drive a GTI. Obviously there will be differences, but you can get a good enough taste to see what you like. Same goes for any other model...
I can't comment on the per capita bit, but I know the US sells/buys a total of 4-5x more Civics than us Canadians per year (as an example). When it comes to sports cars/specialty cars, it gets even worse...up to 1/10th of the what the USA sells/buys.
With all that being said...enthusiast...
Wow, what the hell.
Honestly, I can understand the dealerships wanting to have the car to draw in customers...but at least be transparent about it upfront. If they can legally go through with this, they should at least give her some compensation.
Patience is a virtue my fellow Canucks!
These will be a hot commodity for a brief time, but we as Canadians don't buy a lot of sporty cars. When looking at the sales numbers compared to the US, it's laughable how little of a dent we make. There should be enough to go around. Plus, this is a...
Off topic, I know...but if you can past the little annoyances that the Camaro has, the new one is a scorcher. For the dollar, it's probably the best bang/buck on the planet...
Back on topic...a few local dealerships are saying they are getting 4 CTR's right away. I have a feeling there are...
OP - Honestly, if the car wasn't in limp mode or popping up errors or codes, I wouldn't worry about it.
I don't know for certain what systems this car has in place for high-temp situations but I'd be surprised if Honda weren't smart enough to put some in place. I'm going off an assumption...
I get your logic, but this forum is a small community. Fact is, many CTR's are going to collect dust...due to price or other factors (competition, etc). It's all subject to your location of course, but overall, enthusiasts make a small dent in sales. Even if all the CTR's were sold at MSRP...
When I say ruining it, I mean more and more dealerships are doing ADM's because they know they can get away with it. They see the sheep that walk right in and take it in the ass...no questions asked. If no one ever paid over sticker, there wouldn't be ADM's. I have to admit, in the old...
Go in with logic man!
If it works on every front (practicality, cost, utility) except looks...
...give her an option of paper or plastic before she gets in!
