UPDATE: I got in touch with Mishimoto regarding this issue. After much back and forth, I got the following reply: "As of now, we are doing our R&D for the Civic Si intake. Currently, the R&D team is running vehicles both with and without the check valve to determine if it is necessary for the final product. As of now, we have yet to reach a conclusion if these will be required on the Si catch can."This is the question I am referring to that he asked...
“Why does the Civic Type-R oil catch can that you produce come with a boost check valve to prevent boost pressure being forced back into the block through the catch can yet the Civic 1.5L Turbo CC you make not come with a boost check valve?”
Hmm, what about a non Si 1.5 turbo?UPDATE: I got in touch with Mishimoto regarding this issue. Sounds like they will be running tests on the Si in their shop.
So I can use the catch can I had on my 1.5t Sport HB on my new Si correct?Hello Everyone
We did extensive testing on both applications and determined that a check valve on the 1.5t application wasn’t needed. Check valves can be easily sourced if you feed one is needed in your 1.5t line.
We’ve had the 1.5t kit on our Si donor car since September with no issues.
Thanks

Mine had some in the can so I'll take that as a yesWill this benefit the 1.5t that much?

Thanks for the update! Had an OCC on my BMW E92 335i and I believe it was the reason why I didn't need walnut blasting.Hello Everyone

Extra maintenance and if left neglected... you'll end up with all the blowby dumped into the motor. Also could freeze in very cold tempsI have to be that guy and ask. If this was an issue wouldn’t Honda put an OEM on from factory? I was going to do this on my previous car and people asked me that same question.
