Looking to start a restaurant business. got about 1/4 mill. question is i want to start something that isn't too common at all so that is a certain bottleneck, not funding. first off, who here hates working for someone, i mean it is the absolute pitts for me and has been for years and decades. just never got along with co-workers and bosses, they never know what satisfies them. what makes them happy is unknown like the las vegas bandit.

edit: i will strive to work harder and try to be the best I can be without joining the army.

Although their seasonal ice cream places seem to do really well. Another food that seem to be popular now is BBQ.

Main thing is to be free from the shackles of toxic people by being your own boss. And a 1/4 mill isn't a whole lot of money to get it done. It's all about location and serving a need with a not so common business. Quality food not fast food, for example. Since you are a pool tech, you are already living the american dream as far as being on your own at work but it won't fit my requirement since I need to make atleast 60k if I'm not owning it.

Froyo places are good apparently. If you don't have a Jersey Mike's near you you may want to look into that. Those sandwiches are awesome.

I always liked JITB fajita pita but want to reinvent it somehow but in a fresher way. That's all I got, I will try to find some more to diversify my portfolio of potential assets.

You could always try a build your own fajita's bar as a start up. A lot of businesses have taken Chipotle's business model and ran with it. I think it's a lot of figuring out what people are into in the area and a lot of risk as well because, if you don't know a lot about restaurant's, you could open it and it could fail.

What I ned is an established business that hasn't gotten enough attention and secondly, put it in a location that is underserved but has decent median income levels to support. The hint is Pita bread but need the name so I can open a franchise.
