An aftermarket intercooler would definitely help resist heat soak.

Which intake did you go with dude? I wanted an SRI for the sound, but I did notice some performance loss on my last car with heat soak. Not that it's a huge deal where I live, heat soak only really affects Canadians like 2 months out of a year. I do have to ask though - wouldn't a larger intercooler theoretically negate the heat soak caused by an SRI? The compressed air will be way warmer than any ambient air in your engine bay.
I have the AF Dynamic intake i got it on Amazon, beware of ebay sellers they have knock off AF Dynamic intakes and people are having issues with them.

I have the K&N, but I'm also only running the 2.0 NA. Massive improvement in sound, and the powerband feels a lot cleaner. The dyno sheet is also modest, which makes me believe it's honest - only 2-3hp over stock assuming no other modifications. I also really like the design, and the parts feel like quality. Unlike the generic stuff I was tossing on my old Civic. The connectors, clamps, replacement air box, bolts, washers and screws, all very good. Definitely not going to rattle apart.

Getting the stock tube off the throttle body, the vacuum hose out of stock tube, and removing the grommet that helps hold the old and new air box were all pain points, but mostly because I was nervous about breaking shit in a car with <200mi on it. 500mi later, I'm quite happy with my choice.

Now they just need to release a quality high flow cat replacement and I can start on the exhaust...

Really only making changes to improve gas mileage and sound. It's a CVT sedan. I'm not gonna be drag racing.
