In the past I've either had an aftermarket intake or a performance drop-in filter on my cars. My last car had an AEM Dryflow filter and I loved it. Unfortunately, AEM doesn't make one for our car. So instead I bought an aFe Pro Dry S. It's basically the same thing. Breathes better than stock filter, filters just about as well, is reusable and cleans up with soap and water. You can even just vacuum it out.

So, I bought the filter mostly as a maintenance item but I've seen two improvements with it installed. There is definitely a small bump in throttle response and I'm getting a 1-2 mpg more versus the stock filter (ymmv).

All in all, a well built product that is worth the steep price ($56).

Performs about the same. But, I think it is actually a bit better constructed than the AEM.

Very slight. If you want sound, an SRI is the way to go.

looking at the filter I believe stock is better in filtering as there are more pleats leading to more surface area for filtering efficiency

Stock is always better for filtering. But these filters come close. The better breathe-abilty gives better throttle response and I've seen a small mpg boost. I've used performance filters for 20 years with no issues.

Yeah that's what I read :(
I cant afford the $299 for the PRL SRI at the moment.
Was hoping maybe a drop in would gimme a lil turbee sounds for the time being hahah

Yes. I still use one. Excellent product. As far as price, look at the time stamp on my post. Prices are a lot different now. ;)
