All intakes are the same so waiting wont change anything
You should check out the @Hondata intake testing video on YouTube. I'm not saying there are drastic changes between each intake, but they're not all the same. Clearly CAI>SRI
I would post a link of the video but I'm currently at work and blocked from YouTube. Should be fairly easy to find.
That being said, I personally won't be getting an intake because even the intakes that had the higher gains only showed gains at the top of the rev range (5-9HP only above 5000 rpm) just not worth it to me as I do mostly highway driving and rarely rev above 5000 rpm

I've had SRI's on a number of cars and they add great sound but not much performance. Matter of fact, when hot they may actually lose power. CAI's are quieter but definitely bump up power. Of course, hydrolock could be an issue.

Having said that, I'm not doing an SRI or a CAI for this turbo. The gains are fairly minimal. I did buy a PRL silicone intake hose and an aFe hi flow drop in filter. I think that's enough. IMO, the best power bet on these cars is getting a Ktuner or Flashpro.

My Idle air temps are getting in the upper 120F on hot days with the regular intake

the intercoller is there for a reason........i would say that SRI AND CAI on a non turbo car make a diference...but with a turbo car the sensors adjust all that for you so no whorries with heat.........

The stock intercooler is crap. Short rams do heat soak. And you mean the ECU compensates? Yeah only so far, and why make it compensate? Why not just tune it and be done with it? If your car needs to compensate for more air and fuel, from adding upgrades, your cars not running 100% efficient. CAI's do make a difference.

The reason i got an intake was the sound not the power because i know adding an intake does very little that its a waste to spend so much money on. Instead of spending $200, or $300, or even a stupid $400 on an intake for the satisfaction of the beautiful sound i spend $150 and i'm happy!

There has already been testing done. Like I said, I do my research, it's okay for the stock car, but still could be a little better, when you start adding performance mods, and getting custom tunes, the stock intercooler is no longer efficient.
