Hey Everyone, I just got a custom exhaust job done for my 2017 Civic Si Coupe. For anyone that doesn't know the exhaust is 2.5" diameter and is one piece for the catback. After the resonator the exhaust becomes an oval shape for better clearance up to the "y pipe" where it splits into the mufflers. I had the exhaust shop cut right before the Y Pipe and had a 2.5" Cherry Bomb Glasspack muffler and a dual oval tip with a 2.5" inlet welded on. I am very happy with the results. I have had a lot of exhausts on other cars and I would NEVER expect a 1.5L engine to sound this good. It has a pretty low tone and is quite audible. Under 2k RPM the tone is extra deep and between 2-3k RPM's cruising there is no drone. There are some crackles and pops when letting off the throttle, especially at low speeds. Overall very satisfied! The video is kinda bad and definitely does not do much justice vs in person, I will try to get a better video when I have the time.

The dual tips look so much better than that wacky looking tip Honda put on. Looks very similar to the sport hatch tips.

I originally was going to do that but inspection is very strict in my state and the shop wouldn't do it, they said I have to some some sort of sound restricting device. The cherry bomb was the only thing I could get local, if it eventually goes I will just replace it with something better

Those welds leave something to be desired.
I agree but I checked and it is fully sealed. Also there wasn't enough room to weld intermediate pipes for the bends so they had to weld at an angle to get the bends and have the tips coming out straight so it was more difficult of a job

Is it any more powerful now? Are you producing more boost with the reduced back pressure?
Performance hasn't changed that I can tell, still hitting the same amount of boost. Anyone will tell you that this isn't a power mod, but it makes the car a hell of a lot more enjoyable to drive; best $100 I've spent on this car

Assuming that it is less restrictive than the previous exhaust, it would let the turbo breathe better, possibly increasing performance. That's probably why he was asking.

Hope to hear more sound clips!

Was the shop who welded the cherry bomb on the same place that sold it to you?

No they only did the labor, I bought the tips and cherry bomb at my local auto parts store. The owner didn't want to do work that would be considered illegal for inspection (even though some places will pass you as long as you have your cats and no CEL and your exhaust isn't stupidly loud)
