Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

This guy emailed me. If you're in Idaho....

I wanted to let you know that we just had a Type R come available, their was a deal in the process for it but it fell through. The price is $40,000 plus tax, document and title fee. It is the Polished Metal color and I can send you pictures from my phone. To get the ball rolling you would need to place a $1,000 non-refundable deposit to secure the vehicle. Please let me know your thoughts and how I can be of assistance.

Please disreguard the quote, a third party company made a mistake on pricing. All number on the Type R must be negotiated in person.

yup. When I talked to them they claim honda told them they have to sell it to only locals. what a bunch of bs. I'd never take my business to a place that would blatantly lie to a possible customer.
Should just be real and say, we are only looking to sell to locals instead of straight out BSing.

Yea. Seems like 90%+ of the Honda dealers are full of BS and run the typical car dealership games/scams. Post your g'damn price on cars.com or wherever you want. Stop listing MSRP then telling a different price over the phone. If you're going to charge ADM, just be upfront about it.

If Dodge is bending over dealers that charge exorbitant amounts on the Hellcat and Demon, why do people think Honda would not do the same?

according to the sales guy at honda santa maria its "illegal" to post on cars.com for higher than MSRP. which seems like total BS too considering theres listings for higher than MSRP on there.

these ppl think buyers don't do any research or some sh*t. I hate people who plays these games

So this one she insisted the quote is for a touring. What kind of civic touring has MSRP of 34,775?

@UFO CTR hmmm... interesting story.

Called a bunch of different dealerships this morning. This is what I got...

Diamond Honda CA - $53k
Livermore CA - $59k
Loma Linda CA - $45k
City of Industry CA - $55k
Glendale CA - $60k
Idaho - $44k OTD

They all tell me it's because its loaded with "accessories" aka paint coat, wheel locks, fabric coat.... Pretty much just BS. Hahaha anyone have any luck outside of CA? I'm tempted to drive to Idaho to trade in my 2014 Si.

Hamilton Honda in NJ. They called me and said the car has accessories and add ons. The sale price is $47,000. I told her that is a lot of "accessories"......sad. $12k on a $35k car.

Castle Honda in IL wants $44,775 + TTL. I offered MSRP and he said "Sorry, they're going 10k over here in IL."... Looks to me like they're sitting at $10k over there...

And that's in Idaho. That 40k in Cali would be considered a good deal. I can confirm those crazy prices in California. I traveled to most dealers in Southern California and they all range between 45-60k. Dealerships like to have them in the showroom but if you pay the right price then they gladly take it off the showroom for you. I remember the last allocation for the 01 Integra type R was priced between 38k to 40k. That was in 2001 and the majority of those were in black. The Phoenix yellow was all sold out.

I have cleaned up the recent dealership spam (and posts responding to/quoting the offending posts) in this thread. Please continue to report any spam you see.
