I got my white ex-l with 44 miles on it. Bunch it seems test drove it before I bought it. No where from NY to SC had a white EX-L at the time in November.

A few dealers should get the word out that they focus their efforts on marketing manual Hondas. They are the go-to dealers catering to manual customers.

They can price them aggressively letting everyone know they are a pipeline for manuals.

Honda will get them product if they know they'll move them aggressively.

I got my motorcycle from a dealer who specialized in the model I wanted. He sold over a hundred per year when most dealers sold one or two per year. Word of mouth about this dealer brought him buyers from all over the southeast. He priced aggressively and he sold lots of bikes.

A good strategy for a small bike dealer in the rural South.
Well I emailed a dealer yesterday about their Sport 6MT hatch that was on autotrader and then realized it was the same dealer that I had contacted about the same car last month and once again it was a presold unit. Manager told me they can get them for a 3 month wait and they are selling ALL at MSRP. I LOL'ed.

Yeah, the 3 month wait is BS, they have no idea when they are going to get one unless it's on allocation already. But yeah MSRP is about right, at least they aren't trying to put an ADM on the damn Sport's.

I see what they're doing: busy churning out MTs for the Si. There's currently 1200+ Si's listed on cars.com. That's a pretty quick ramp up if they put their mind to it with better profit margin as a motivator.

I'm sure they'll crank out a few more Sport HB 6MTs when the Si's start to sit on the lots and waiting lists for the former start to grow. There's a certain number of buyers who prefer a manual HB and don't want a sedan or the Type R as a DD.

However, I understand where Honda is coming from. It's all business. Nothing personal.

In my case, it's gas mileage. I'm looking for a car that will haul stuff (thus the hatchback) and gets good gas mileage on the road (thus the gas-turbo with 6MT) The sport has the big-wheel, wide, low-profile tire thing going that hurts gas mileage + it's more expensive. My 2nd choice would be the Ioniq or Niro, but those cars are so expensive I'd never make up the difference in gas savings.
I didn't see any effect on mileage when I swapped my 18s for 16" 205 snow tires. Or sell the wheels if you don't want them, that's what I did, got $1400 for them. The whole Sport package is what, $1600?

You do lose some trunk space, but it's worth it for the dual exhaust, leather steering wheel, body kit and for me, the car feels so much snappier with 93 octane - although maybe the LX feels the same, dunno.

I don't buy your theory. You're assuming that there must be a shortage of 6MTs because of the Si. Why not a shortage of 1.5Ts? Why not a shortage of fenders, or any other part common to the two cars?

Maybe because Honda has been more focused on getting the Si out than meeting demand for 6MT Sport hatches in the US?

Sorry, but I'm not paying MSRP for a Sport hatch. I don't care if it IS a manual. These cars are not an Si or Type R. If I didn't want a specific color then I would have bought one a long time ago. Some of these cars are sitting on lots in parts of the country for a while because certain colors are much less desirable.
