So I spoke to one of the dealers I have been talking to for a while today. The GM finally started a list as he stated he got his allocation information. (This is a dealer that won't take deposits until they have a VIN and wouldn't start a list until they got allocation from Honda, so I guess they are releasing that information?) Unfortunately of the two he said they are getting, neither are white. Heartbroken.

They said they are trying to dealer trade with one of the few in the state getting white and will keep me up to date, but not to get my hopes up since it is probably the most popular color.

Anyone with other reluctant dealers have similar experiences recently? Apparently this information just came to them a couple days ago.

Sent you a message.
Okay so just as I suspected there's still no selection for the Type R on the dealer portal. So there no evidence proving to me that they are telling you the truth...

How
Sent you a message.
Okay so after checking the dealer portal I can confirm that no where on there does it even give you the ability to choose Civic Type R still so to me I think that they are full of it.

HOWEVER..... I just thought about the possibility of a different scenario where it isn't necessarily unrealistic to expect them on the way without being in the dealer portal. This could be a reach but I could understand the logic from this perspective as well as my skeptical/sometimes seemingly pessimistic views lol.

It could be possible that since these initial CTR's have been "pre-allocated" through the regional reps (I can confirm that is 100% accurate), that the initial wave of these 2017's or at least the 1 unit every dealership is promised could very well not show up in the allocation systems until they actually reach the US and have a VIN to track. Leaving the regional reps (which would vary between areas because some regional reps care more about this exciting product than other regional reps) with the most information. It's completely possible for some dealerships to at least have a rep who is more up-to-date on the current status of incoming CTR's since they are now on trucks bound for the US.

---------------------------------

My gut instinct tells me that your dealership is full of crap, however if you could get them to send you a picture of a confirmation or VIN number that would be awesome. Just play dumb and ask them how they know that those are coming in, then we can see what there response is. I'll verify what I can on my end of things to help out!

There are some many questions I have about this......... there is absolutely no way that anything on this proposal could be legally binding. And not to mention they put the word "estimate" on a documental solidifying pricing is just a "wtf" moment for me.. This person needs to run from this dealership as fast as possible.

Whoooaaa that polished metal looks good  (my first color of choice). All it needs is some 15% window tint and I'm done with it :D. Does anybody know if the wheel width is 8.0 or 8.5? Thank you

Playing devil's advocate here, but what if the massive and inconsistent rumors of ultra limited availability is being used as a brilliant form of misdirection to cover up the fact that everyone who wants one will in fact get one. They say only a few are coming over, we all aggressively try to secure one only to have every order filled....the crowd goes wild. Honda sells a boat load and they become rolling advertisements for the other civic models. Not too much of a stretch for a car that's supposed to be limited but not impossible to get and will have a multiple year production run.

Delusional thinking???
I considered that possibility. I think the more hopeful scenario - half the people that really immediately want one, have the means to immediately get one, and actually PLAN to immediately go and hand over Money on the first possible opportunity are possibly on this forum. I think the number that responded to the poll is under 100 as I recall. So double that to 200. Then consider the fact that I, and I'm sure many others, have their name on a list with multiple dealers making it seem as if the demand is greater than it really is. I know for certain that I am on the supposed 'call back when it's available' list at 11 dealerships. I have 1 deposit at 1 dealer because no others would entertain deposits until they have a VIN, color, and price. As soon as I get my 1, 10 other dealerships are going to be wondering what happened to the guys on their list or their sure-sale. I'm hopeful the guy I'm #2 to (where I do have my deposit) will learn we're getting blue and opt out for a white or some other far-fetched scenario.
I don't know how much I can go on that because I see some guys saying they're 8th on the list at dealers actually taking deposits and you know #3 through #7 aren't getting a car this year so why make the deposit... dealer transfers probably won't happen on #1 and I honestly wouldn't want my car driven more than 3 miles before I pick it up.
Of course, this little theory all goes to $#!T if only 1 in 200 immediately interested people are on this forum and responded positively...

I look forward to seeing how many of us are able to get our hands on one!
Me too. I'm hoping it's a slow week wherever I buy mine so I can take delivery the day it arrives, or at most a day later. Nothing worse than seeing the car and waiting for paperwork or dealer prep!

And what was your reply?
Key and Peele: Looks around nervously: "I said biiiiiiiiiiiiiiich."
If you're pushed for numbers, just give Si numbers minus about 4mpg. Probably close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades.

And what was your reply?
I said I'd guess $34-35k and mileage maybe 25/35 mpg?

I drove a friend's Type R once, a 2000 I think - it left a huge impression - if this car is like that one, I'll have to get one.

Anyone thinks there is possibility CTR will be ready for grab late july-august? @Allknowing @dmk20akid @NorthernEX-T? reason I ask becasue last august I was involved on a motorcycle accident and I am hard trying get my settlement before car hit the rooms. June-July is when I expect getting first part but I am totatly afraid things delay and end losing the CTR for 2017? I am paying for it cash since i have blew my credit after my last divorce and my plan put it all cash ..

damn I start having nightmares I cannot get my hand on it :spaz:.

MY goal is getting the CTR and this bad baby
