5 minutes in the godawful driver's seat of an ST was enough to get me to look elsewhere...
Thanks for the heads up, hell no to Ford, was just showing the type of discount they are offering, probably because it's a Ford...haha

I've really only heard positive things about the STs. Sure they've got some torque steer but with the Recaro package I hear it's a wonderful place to be. Driving it is probably a different story; I've never driven one.

They are so damn cheap at this price point

Agreed. And, that $4K is a factory incentive, so there's no loss to the dealer meaning there is still room for negotiation. An informed buyer could buy a new ST right now for $19,XXX. That's a lot of power for that price, but as so many have stated before, power is just one piece of the complete package. What good is a beautiful, tall, slender blond with the body of a supermodel if she has obnoxious feminine hygiene?

The Recaro seats are amazing unless you're fat; then I suppose they might be uncomfortable. Honestly, those seats are better than the Recaros in the Evo X, which I thought where absolutely amazing.

As for the car, it's fantastic, except for the shifter which has long throws (nothing a short shift kit won't fix). It's torquey, gets decent mileage, handles exceptionally well for a FWD car (though on the track it eats brakes due to the brake vectoring setup), and has the practicality of a hatch. Honestly, had they not been going for over sticker when I bought my STI, I would have picked up a FoST. At $21K (or less) for a stripper model, that's an absolute steal.

It seems that should be a great alternative to the Si or GTI. I'm really a fan of Civics and Sis especially, but I really do like the idea of a hatch. I hate to be this guy, but I really do wish they were putting out an Si hatch. I'll be interested to see where this new generation of FoST goes-- from what I've seen the taillights are UGLY. But I believe it's all just renders based on misleading spy shots at this point. I'm still pretty torn with what my next car will be, but I'd sure love an Si or base Type-R if that's a thing.

Sure, huge rebates are a good incentive, but you're going to be buying a new car that feels like it's 4 or 5 years old.

False. Obviously seat comfort is subjective but Google it and you'll find lots of complaints about those 'amazing' Recaros. Way overbolstered IMHO.

I sat in one at an auto show last month. I thought they were the most comfortable and supportive seats I've ever set in, but I'm 5'-11" and 150 lbs. However, the car itself felt cartoonishly tall and narrow - not unlike a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. There are too many variations from one human to the next to make a "one-size-fits-all" seat. The best you can do is "one-size-fits-most" or "one-size-fits-many". Much like Apple's latest EarPods, I feel like they made a mold of and scanned my ears and made them just for me, but they fall out of or hurt some peoples' ears.
