But you can also say if they only build a few 17s, that will help the value in the end, (less units means more resale value) no it sort of cancels it out.
This one it not like the first 2000 FK2 with all original Japanese imported parts. 18 will probably have more power, newer. 17 is a Paid beta-tester.....

The way I see it . Yesterday's debut wasn't even an planned one. They don't have any Honda or Type-R banners anywhere. All they had was 2 guys. And the main stage is for every car going for the show awards.
What 2 guys!?

Lol. Yeah he wasn't paying attention!

And those two guys are big people. RJ De Vera flipped the car tuner world on its head back in the late 90s. Jeez
It looked like you and @revin9k had a good time there yesterday! If you go see it again you should try and see if there is info stamped on the inside of the 20s

Unless MY17 has something unique compared to MY18, I don't think the value will change much.

For example, 1997 and 1998 were the only 2 years the Integra came in championship white. Those tend to be worth a little more than the 2000-2001 models.

This is what I'm arguing though:

Production would be limited to 320 units in 1997 and 1,000 units in 1998. 1,350 units were built for the US in 2000 and 1,158 in 2001. A total of 3,823 Integra Type R were produced.

To me this might be similar the the 17 & 18 years, if they build a considerable amount less Type Rs in 17, it may make them worth more down the road.. that's all I'm saying.

While I do see where you're coming from, 100%, I think it's more than likely that unless you have vin#1 or there's a color exclusive to MY17, I don't personally think the value will go up more on the 17s than any other future MY. This is all personal speculation though, we shall see.

I was wondering about that... like maybe one of the LA area tuners had a CW CTR and was like 'Hey @Honda, we have this show here...mind if we just show it off a bit?'

Lol. Yeah he wasn't paying attention!

Just watched the original Fast & Furious movie!! I was like yo there he is!

I was thinking about this bit of facts and...I wonder if it will be IMPOSSIBLE to get any 2017 CTR that isn't Black, White, or 'maybe' RED. AKA if you're waiting for blue, you gotta wait for 2018MY...

I'd bet on that too, maybe even no black or red, very few vs CW..

That would suck if they faked the exhaust note, especially with one of the biggest complaints about the FK2 was the lack of a decent exhaust note. So instead of fixing it, they just fake the sound? I guess you can't really put anything past Honda when it comes to embellishing videos, with the SI's rear wheels spinning... With that being said, in the video release, the exhaust note doesn't sound throaty until they revved it out. I have a feeling the car won't wake up aurally until you get on it. But I guess we will have to wait and see. Which should just be the slogan for the FK8. "The All-New 2017 Honda Civic Type R, Wait and see"
Actually got to hear the car start up and it sounded really good! It did get quiet as they drove up the ramp. There was lots of noise in the arena that made it hard to hear. But the initial start up grunt was impressive.

what a shitty unveiling they did..i had all this excitement built up.(my fault)
They should have pulled it up on stage and hit 6000 rpm or something, everyone would have went nuts and it really would have given us something to talk about, that would have caused some excitement for everybody.
I asked him to rev it up, he said they weren't allowed to do that indoors. Trust me, I tried everything lol
