My experience has been the same. And it doesn't seem to matter how fast I walk away from the car. Sometimes I'll stand right next to the door (literally within a foot) and it'll rapid-beep. Other times I can powerwalk away and it locks correctly. Minor, but frustrating.
Totally agree. Frustrating. Somewhat easier to take once you accept the fact that Honda will neither acknowledge the problem, nor do anything about it. Dealers are clueless. And don't get me wrong. I love Honda. It's basically a sign of the times.

It's one of my favorite features. It has worked perfectly for me since I rarely have passengers.
It's a great feature if you don't need to get in the car in your garage without always having the fob. I had the feature on for a while. I found it inconvenient when I always had to have the fob on me to grab something from the car or if my kids needed something. I finally turned it off. Would be great if there was a way for auto lock not to work in a zoned area like my garage. But I never had a glitch with the walk away. It always worked for me. It's easy enough to just press button on handlento lock. Key stays in my pocket from time I leave for work until I come home.

My thoughts exactly. I had this feature turned on for the first few weeks , and it did what it is supposed to do.....but going back to the beginning of time, I am used to having my car unlocked when it is safely in my garage at home... and not needing my keys with me when going to my car for any reason. So yesterday I turned walk-away lock off. When away from home, I'll have to re-train myself to lock it (it's easy enough to do....we have 3 other ways to lock the doors).

I disagree, I love it. Drove my Murano the Intelligent Key well doesn't seem to be...intelligent. LOL

Not that I'm afraid but I left her unlocked after parking. :)

I use it every day, every time. Last week I borrowed my dad's car when I dropped off my car for the cvt recall and I was so used to walk away auto lock from my car, I forgot to lock my dad's car after I parked. Had to walk back from work to the street to manually lock it with the key fob.

Too risky to leave the fob in the car?

I'm a cautious person to begin with, so I wouldnt. Even the safest neighborhood has the occasional problem

I hear ya. Leaving it unlocked in a locked garage is one thing. But leaving the keys in it, I don't think I could sleep at night.

Walk away auto is one or my fav feature. I love it. I never put my keys out. 80% of the time I am alone... HOWEVER... yeah... if you have slow passengers... its a deal breaker. It will mess up everything. The system is reliable but you have to make sure you are the one walking away the last if you have slow passengers. Bashing on this feature is unfair if it's not useful for you. That doesn't mean it doesn't work. Just sharing my experience. I can see why some people might not like it... however, still works.

Totally agree. I can't even remember the last time I pulled out my keys. Super convenient. Also, "did I lock the car" is a thought I willl never have again.

I wish it had the kick feature where you could open the trunk hands-free.

Not in my case. I've played the 'patience card', but I still get the rapid beeping every now and then. Maybe once a week. The weak keyfob battery theory isn't bad, except it's been happening to me since day one. I'd summarize it as either bad product or bad coding.
I love the feature, but also get the multi beep once in a while. I find it annoying and don't know the reason. Does anyone have a valid explanation why this happens? Something I missed in the manual or something a Honda tech has advised?

I noticed this happened once when I messed with the automatic lights and left them on, or if someone stayed behind and the car didn't lock. If you forget your keys inside that is the sound you get too. This happened to me a few times but it happened when something was wrong. It is a heads up to tell you that the car didn't close too.

I tried looking in the manual but couldn't find that.

I am 100% sure it has nothing to do with automatic lights. I have had that set for 8 months, I always leave the lights on auto. It is a great feature, my 08 Altima had it too, left those lights set on auto for 4 years. Regarding the fob key, RF proximity is not an exact science the fob is still in the RF field sometimes when you are standing beside the car, especially by driver side door. RF fields fluctuate slightly, hence the random multi beeps. I clued into this yesterday when I read a few more posts on the subject. Mystery solved.
