Hey, guys.

My car is two weeks old, and I was cleaning off some water spots left over from yesterday's manual car wash with a freshly-washed microfiber cloth and it appears to have made an imperfection about the size of a fingernail tip. Not sure if it was something caught in the fibers or not. It is very minor, but of course it bothers me. I can drag my fingernail over it and it doesn't get caught so it isn't very deep. Some water and microfiber light scrubbing did nothing to it, I also tried a clay bar over it and that didn't work, either.

Would a cleaner such as Invisible Glass be helpful? I plan on picking some up tonight. Would a glass polish or compound be safe? I'm sure there exists something that can buff it out. The guy who did my window tint and also has his own detailing business said he could try and get it out, but no promises as glass is hard to polish.

Are you referring to a scratch? I'm assuming you are. If your nail catches when you drag it across then it is too deep to be repaired.

Do you have tint ? Did it get damaged during tinting?

Anyways you are better off either leaving it alone or replacing the entire glass. if the guy buffs it it's going to pull off the UV coating the stock glass has been treated with even if it does not look like it.

The dealer who was detailing my car got fast and loose with the razor blade and scratched my window and I had them replace the whole thing. Hard enough buffing you will remove the coating.

This is why I won't tint my car bc tinters cut the tint right on the glass and scratch it.
