The 10th GEN Civic is a great platform for soaking up highway miles during the weekday and tearing it up at the track on the weekend. With some minor modifications, the 1.5L Turbo engine is capable of producing some killer power. Added power will push the limits of the stock charge air system, necessitating an upgrade for the stock tube-and-fin intercooler, which is prone to heat soak. Injen has developed a highly efficient bar-and-plate intercooler engineered specifically to fit the 2016-17 Honda Civic I4-1.5L (t) 10th Gen.

The FM1573i intercooler is a direct-fit unit and features a 25% increase in core volume while requiring no modification to your civic. This cooler is constructed with cast end tanks and precision CNC-machined aluminum flanges for use with the factory intercooler piping. The Injen Honda Civic intercooler reduces intake temperatures by 24°F and provides an increase of up to 16 HP and 19 Lbs. of torque while retaining factory boost pressure across the core.

This Civic 1.5L turbo intercooler also features precision TIG-welding and has a sick silver finish. With a one-hour installation, great power and temperature benefits, and a Lifetime Warranty, the Injen FM1573i intercooler is a must-do upgrade for any stock or modified 10th Gen turbo Civic.

With intake, intercooler, AND tune I don't see how you can't be near 250!
I agree with this.

Civic MT Race car high octane plus 8 psi more boost.

  • 260 tq and 233 hp
  • +42 HP and 76 lb-ft torque over stock
^^ This is what Hondata pulled from that engine without a better FMIC

their ad is says no tune required. Intercooler doesn't magically add power unless the factory one is heat stroked. I could be wrong but lets see some real world dyno stock vs Injen intercooler. Maybe the stock intercooler is really restrictive but then you are still using the stock charge pipes. We are also talking about stock boost level here and not a tuned with much higher boost

those numbers are on race gas. also hondata stated the turbo will be maxed out around 230hp.

a turbo is not an intercooler. your not going to magically see these gains by installing, no tune required means its plug and play, doesn't mean you will see gains without modifications. if you modify your exhaust you won't see gains either, if you modify your Downpipe you will, if you modify your down pipe AND Exhaust you will see more. see how that works?

also for people who don't understand, total horsepower of your car is not simply adding advertised gains from each different performance parts.

actually you will see a gain from a exhaust or downpipe without a tune. you will see less back pressure from the turbo.
They are advertising with just the intercooler you can get 16hp/19tq from it. just like their intake suppose to give you 29hp/25tq. in reality the intake did less than 10hp with a tune.

I'm only picking on this cause their numbers are way off than what it really is. I'm not bashing their product. Just their bullshit dyno numbers

I never said anything about a tune though? I said an exhaust ALONE won't add an increase (it can but with our car very little). DP will, THEN exhaust will more, re read my post. but not exhaust alone. also like I stated, you won't gain advertised numbers just by adding those parts to your car, it's somewhat misleading but not inaccurate. an intake can add UP TO 29hp 25tq but not as a stand alone part same as for an intercooler. no tune required means plug and play, won't harm drivability.

as a side not I can see the intake numbers being a little inflated being as they dyno'd on a CVT especially if they did not establish a base line.

I might just have to pull the trigger on this one.. I kind of want to find a way to open up the front bumper to expose the intercooler more. I love that look.

Has anyone purchased the intercooler yet? If so what's your review on it?
