American Honda Debuts Next Generation Civic Concept at New York International Auto Show

NEW YORK, April 1, 2015 – Today, at the New York International Auto Show American Honda unveiled its ultra-sporty Civic Concept that will provide the styling direction for the next generation Civic models due to be launched in the U.S.

With more focus on sporty, fun-to-drive dynamics the new Civic line-up will include Civic Sedan, Coupé and Si models, along with the return of the Civic five-door hatchback. These will be followed by the launch of a next generation Civic Type R to the U.S. market, as the performance flagship of the Civic line-up. The 10th generation Civic will also be the first U.S. model to apply new VTEC® Turbo engines from the company’s Earth Dreams Technology™ powertrain series.

Production of the five-door hatchback will take place at Honda‘s Swindon, UK production facility, Honda of the UK Manufacturing (HUM), and will be exported to the U.S.

HUGE THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT.

PETITION UPDATE
Dreams Have Power

Honda Civic 10th gen What's your purchase price? HDLLUvSIaPqQlQB-128x128-noPad

NOV 5, 2014 — Thank you for taking the time to support our petition to American Honda. A few days ago an article appeared ( http://www.motoryracing.com/coches/noticias/exclusiva-honda-civic-type-r-llegara-usa/ ) about the Honda Civic Type R coming to the US in 2016 and a few
related articles followed

http://m.autoevolution.com/next-honda-civic-type-r-coming-to-the-us-in-2016-88431.html

http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/honda-civic-type-r-finally-will-arrives-at-us-coasts-1653681508

I contacted the writer of the article , Mr Sergio J Cabrera and he shared with me part of the information that lead him to come to this conclusion. I would like to personally thank him for putting his
credibility on the line and giving us the much needed hope we needed.

I can certainly feel the energy right now and our petition is about to pass 19000 signatures and its growing at a steady rate.

It's momentum. And it's because of what you're doing. I know you are ready as I am to see this thing through. It's an incredible feeling to know that we can make a difference.

So when you get online one day and you read about Honda of America announcing the Civic Type R for the United States and Canada, remember
one thing: They're are going to be talking about you, the enthusiast.

I also contacted Honda last week and they replied with "thank you , no
comment right now". I also heard the "no comment" from fellow Honda employees that I socialize with. What they do not understand is that when you say "NO
WAY", it means "NO WAY", but when you say NO COMMENT, it means "I am
not allowed to tell you the good news just yet until the car is ready to be marketed" and "we have another civic to sell you until its time to start production on the new generation"

I need your help. I am not alone and you informing others about this petition, means the world to everyone involved, I am sure.

Please share and get your fellow enthusiasts involved, no matter the
brand. I set up instagram, facebook and twitter pages so hopefully you will understand how important it is that we keep making noise. We are not asking anymore. WE ARE DEMANDING!

So if you want the holy grail of Honda racing performance on american
soil, please in no particular order:

-share the petition with fellow enthusiasts www.tinyurl.com/bringtheR
-like our www.facebook.com/typerusa page for more updates
-follow us on www.twitter.com/typerusa and www.instagram.com/typerusa

Dreams have power

All the best,

I'm one of the folks that signed the petition. I have been waiting and watching for years in hopes that a Type R civic would come this way. I really remember the disappointment when we finally learned the last version (9) was not to destined for the U.S.
Cant wait for the wait to be over. Its been a while!

Don't even quote your insurance unless you want to have a minor heart attack.
I'm hoping it comes in at or less than the '16 MDX. I think the Liability should be less at least...I hope!

I think it's going to be very high considering the HP.
Yeah it could be. I'm just basing it on our last vehicle change. When we went from Pilot EX-L ($36k? I forget) to MDX ($50k roughly) the insurance went up $140 a year.
