At the end we're talking about a few bucks every fill up.

If this is breaking the bank...

Not to offend anyone but you know what you bought and I guess I've never been the type to pay attention or worry about mileage.

Actually it adds up. My 2001 Audi A6 4.2 liter only got 15 MPG. After 15 years doing an average of 70 cents per gallon for premium vs 87 octane was paying for years 4.50/gallon and so I did an average of $3.00 for 87 and $3.75 for premium you can do the math. My Civic I am getting around 35 Mpg. It comes out I believe over $20,000 I save by driving my Civic. Yeah it's no Audi but I do like my Civic. So yeah it's only a few dollars more every fill but over 15 years it adds up. But on same vehicle getting same MPG roughly between 87 octane and premium; yeah I don't know but I'm sure it's a lot over 15 years which I think this Civic will easily do if kept stock and no modifications. I'll keep fueling up with regular and add a tank here and there with premium. I hated that Audi! Ugh.

Oh my bad, I thought this was an oil thread.
This is a legit thread! We are not trying or toying with the idea of putting diesel in our vehicle

theres guys here who turn the car off when coasting downhill. They call themselves "hypermilers". Talk about nickles and dimes.

I've observed a 7% increase in fuel economy steady states, 91 vs 87, ...but 'I think' tank to tank may be a smaller percentage change and is definitely harder to quantify.

Peak Horsepower increased from 178 hp to 192 hp, or about an 8% increase.

I call them "idiots". If people are that damn worried about 1 mpg, that they would turn off the car, and in effect disable some of the electronics needed for in case they need them, they should just ride a damn bicycle.

Or get a fucking Prius.

IMO anyone who's that obsessed with saving a buck or two has some kind of psychological disorder. How would the ladies here like being married to a guy like that?

That's why I always fill up with 91 octane. The ladies love the extra 14 horsepower wallop,... AND they appreciate what a big spender I am. I pretty much have to peel the women off my "premium fed" civic with a spatula. nice

It's not about money, it's about the challenge, like guys who over clock their PCs, which isn't about gameplay, it's about the numbers
