We have had several customer reports of around a 1 second improvement. Last weekend, we ran a 14.39 @ 98 mph in the 1/4 at the IFO in Arizona in our CVT Civic.
Was this in S, D, or L? Traction control off and A/C off this time?

Despite our turbocharged car’s lag time at launch, we were off to a decent 0-60 time of 7.5 seconds. With both the little turbo cranked and CVT screaming, the ¼-mile passed in a respectable 15.7-seconds at 93 miles-per-hour.

Standing ¼-mile: 15.3 sec @ 94 mph
car and review
Pretty sure stock is somewhere around 6.9 seconds 0-60.

I have a turbo hatch CVT with an injen CAI. I was thinking and reading all about Flashpro but I'm not familiar with tuning techniques. Can I see some real benefits with using a base tune 6 psi boost with CAI or do you really need to customize and temweak your tune? Any help or thoughts are appreciated.
The advantage of the base tune is that it retains many of the factory parameters. Going custom is only as good as the guy doing the tune. We have a few on here with a good background with Honda/Hondata. But the DI powertrian and ECU logic comes with a learning curve.

IMHO, you don't "need" a custom tune. But it the hands of the right tuner, it should be a night & day difference over a base map. There are a good 4-5 threads from members showing results from both approaches. Go with the one that best suits your end game. GL.

First time poster. I just purchased the FlashPro, I have no experience with this tuner but I do have experience with the Cobb AP. I loaded the +3 psi tune and can already tell there is a big difference in TQ. I am assuming I can upload the +6 tune and be safe on 87 Octane?

Also, are there any tuning shop that work with you online?

you will be fine with 87 on 6psi map

most tuners will work with you online.
@VitViper is an active user here that is also a tuner. he does e-tuning and probably has the most experience on this new ecuhttp://vittuned.com/

Do you have to unlock the Flashpro before before bringing the car in for service, or just revert back to factory tune?

I would just revert back to stock everything including un-marrying the FlashPro

Based on my experience with the FlashPro on the 8th civic SI you always need to fine tune it.

I never found a basemap that worked right away without knocks and a relative flat AFR plus a decent fuel STRIM/LTRIM. Even the ones that VitViper was hosting on his old site needed some fine tune too.

Basic stuff you need to watch are"
  • Knock count (doesn't necessarily has to be zero sometimes is impossible because of aftermarket parts noises). Normally by retarding the ignition by 0.5 until it stops knocking is enough. Pro tuners use the dyno and they keep retarding the ignition until find that hp is reduced.
  • AFRs at Wide open throttle: For the K20Z3 max power was achieved when the values were between 12.8 to 13.2. For turbocharged engines normally is in the 11s but this is a new engine maybe maximum power is achieved with a leaner AFR. Remember the higher the number the more leaner is the mixture.
  • AFRs at normal driving: The ecu tries to target 14.7 at least on the old 8th civic. If the ECU sees that AFRs are higher or lower than that it will do a quick adjust. That is the STRIM. It should show as a percentage. A good Strim for max fuel efficiency and drivability should be 0% but that is almost impossible so a +/- 5% is pretty good. LTRIMs is an adjustment that the ECU do to reduce the STRIMs fluctuation by finding a middle point. If the LTRIM changes to another value than 0% it means that the STRIMs were fluctuating a lot.

8th gen ecu is another world the ecu in the 10th gen is way more complex since ecu adjuste itself boost, ign and knock etc..

Just got my FlashPro and loaded a basemap 6 PSI boost with Injen CAI. Wow, feels like a different car. Big gains!

Does it void the dealer warranty if you flash, and can the dealer tell if you revert back to stock when you bring it in for service?

This is 100% true, they cannot however see what was flashed. Not to mention something as simple as leaving the battery off for too long and forcing the "idle relearn" can increase the "flash counter" . All in all I personally believe it would be quite difficult to deny a warranty based solely on the "flash counter".
Click the arrow beside my name in the quote, it will bring you to the original post. Too much to re type hahaha.
