First time it slipped was about 260wtq. Then it finally really let go around 280-290wtq. Each time it recovered -- to a point. But I can tell the slip events had wear & tear on the assembly and it's just not the same. HOlds reduced torque levels OK (around 250wtq seems to hold out).

@Hondata broke a CVT intentionally to find the limit if I'm not mistaken. KTuner has also had his personal CVT test car whine and scream, so we know where the limit is. They are not very strong and they are very expensive to replace if buying one from Honda. Tuning them should be done with care and with an "OK" from the owner to push it.
Have you found a aftermarket clutch to hold the power? Do you what at what level Hondata broke their CVT?

OK, well looks like me and my CVT sport HB will just stick with Hondata FlashPro basic tunes for a bit more power and stop there. Not looking to "max" it out and break something, just want a bit more fun and the 6psi flash sounds like just the ticket for someone like me, I'll spend the DP money on something else after hearing all this from Vit. This was the kind of info I was looking for and Vit is honest and upfront on the power available and what may or may not hold!!!!!

There is no one making an aftermarket replacement as the demand is basically non-existent right now. I have mentioned to the clutch maker that the Si is coming with the same 6MT so there will be demand soon enough... Currently it requires sending out a whole new OEM assembly for them to upgrade (PP, Flywheel, disc, TO bearing) so it is VERY expensive even with my Honda OEM parts connections.

I would assume around 230-240wtq the CVT breaks. I think the CVT will benefit from a turbo upgrade as it does *not* need or benefit from the low end/mid range torque this motor makes with the small turbo between 2500-4500 rpm (not like the MT anyway, since the CVT doesn't live that low). But we can limit torque to ~210-220wtq or so and give the CVT's 250whp which would be VERY fun in the car I think.

You'll also have to replace the dual mass flywheel with a one piece flywheel. They won't hold the torque either.

We are working with one of the Honda factory race teams. I'll see if they have one laying around.

Yup this is being looked into as well.

The clutch maker wanted all untouched parts, so if one of the race teams has a new one laying around that's a steal, even at cost that flywheel makes you cringe a bit... especially since I don't actually need it for anything other than R&D for the new clutch kit lol.

I just bought Hondata for my CVT exT. sadly they didn't have the MT and I was in need of a car. So right now I'm on the base map for high octane and +6psi boost. I want to add an intake and DP however I don't want anything to give out. Any idea if the car can handle it?

What do you think of the 6psi base map vs stock?

Night and day. I am currently getting tune by vit but even the +6 base map is a huge improvement
Awesome, thanks, just got my flashpro and won't be doing custom tuning for a while and have heard great reviews on the included tunes.

My car is loving the included tune, no bs, just works. Way better tune than stock even, less boost until you hit 2500rpm vs stock which will help fuel economy. Doug is a genius.

Do you think there would be any way to upgrade the CVT to handle more torque?
