Yeah it's definitely a risk, but that's the big question we all are asking - will they make enough for demand or will they make a limited run? Other questions like, how many can Swindon push out a year, and what do all the other markets get as far as allocation, are worth considering too. Truth is none of us really know but we have our guesses.

Personally I'm buying this car for my 3 season daily driver. And since I'm going to be living with it almost daily I cannot live with a Red or Black one and I'm willing to walk away if it comes to that.

Hope you can get the color you want, I know I will be disappointed if it's not White, Grey or Blue.
Why not get the car in whatever color is available and putting a wrap on it and change the color to your liking? Similar to what was put on the prototype CTR to give it the brushed metal look.

I could be wrong but from my understanding it's not insanely expensive to get it done. I'm getting my CTR wrapped
I heard it cost about as much as high-quality paint job so I want to guess to be between $4000 – $5000.

It will definitely protect the paint pretty good. Also, you can do something like Nano-Fusion, a clear film, similar to 3M but the difference is that this one does not yellow and has a lifetime warranty. Not cheap either, especially on those surfaces were they are a lot of creases and curves like bumpers and such.

I don't want to wrap it because of the extra cost - I'd rather buy wheels lol. But ultimately I want championship white because it's what I want.

Also, if Honda does a "black edition" like they did for the 9th gen type-r, I feel I'd get better resale value or have an easier time selling the car if it is white and would allow me to go after the limited edition version.

and what I have known in the past, they only last for 5 or so years; pretty much the same as a mid-range tint.
that may have changed with products released in the last 24 months - but previous wraps need to be re-done every 5 years; because of the UV degradation (and the adhesive can destroy the clearcoat after that time) previous 3M "lifetime warranty" was the lifetime of the product; which was 4-5 years.

does that apply today? I can't be sure. but I am willing to bet it's not far off.

Does a wrap affect cof (co-efficient of friction) or aero?
it's dependent on the type.... but "TECHNICALLY" it can be worse; if you assume the best you can get is a perfectly waxed paint job.
but in the general scheme of it, the answer is no.
more supported answer is no; #becauseracecar - real racecars use wraps; so it must not matter, but they also change livery's more often,
and fix damage more, which with a paint-job becomes very time consuming and more costly.

the above is just my opinion. but it makes sense; experts please prove me wrong if i am :p

In racing all things are equal - NASCAR, F1, etc - so if everybody is wrapped they're all equally handicapped; and wind tunnel testing will reveal any nasty aero effects so they can be compensated for. In racing the wrap appears to be for sponsorship change reasons not style or performance.

F1 is entirely differently... they don't wrap and each manufacturer (team) has the ability to research new paints. Red Bull pulled out some crazy paint a couple years back that actually saved weight.

Received a call from the dealer today. Take it for what it's worth. He didn't receive any upcoming CTR allocations for this month but is expecting them next month. This means an April, May, or June pick up date.

I'll probably go see what's up the end of next month at my local dealership, when I get back from my vacation trip...

Was driving past my dealership and stopped in. They had no new information about what colors or total figures would be coming in. Still just MSRP and I'm #2 on the list but Championship White is also what #1 wants :p

The dealer might not be telling you the whole truth. My dealer told me they are getting 2 black and one silver. I have my deposit down for a black already. The dealers know what they're getting.
