I totally trust Vit not to overtune my car.He in not so many words said so.Ill be happy with equal to Hondatas specs but a clean precise tune unique to my 1.5-T

Yeah, im pretty sure if you were going to do something extreme Vit would tell you that you are trying to exceed the limits of the car. That being said, it sounds like Honda programmed it so we couldnt do something dumb to them even with FP but using a separate computer to run the CVT and request torque, if I read the other posts correctly

I know the cvt will be able to handle a mild tune with minor bolt ons. I'm not saying it's down right crappy and weak. You just won't be able to really take advantage of it like you would a manual. The only worry I have with the cvt is the tune with minor bolt ons or whatever, long term use. Like I know Honda try's to set a reliably rate of 300k miles or something to that extent. I just have a feeling like it definitely will have a affect on that. That's just my gut feeling with everything I know about cars, specifically Hondas.

I mean this is my first CVT, but I would hope Honda gave it the same over engineered reliability that they used on previous models. It's probably rated for 50% more torque than stock.

Judging by your logic and math, if the safe-zone is indeed +50%, then 243ft-lb would be the limit for the CVT. I'd be pretty happy with that.

You should select a base map. Run some data logs and then purchase a custom e tune through Vit Viper, then you send him logs and he's cleans it up and then sends it back and you keep uploading as many calibrations it takes to have it perfect. It will feel like a completely different car!
how much does it cost to have them tune? and if I plan on getting a down pipe should I just wait to tune?

Vittuned.com looks like right now $800 for FlashPro and ultimate tune or $300 for just the ultimate tune. I tuned with him before, you must send him the mods you have now for your tune. If you add more mods later he charges $100 minimum for a retune depending on the mod type

So there was another thread saying econ makes more power or some saying it doesnt run as good during WOT.. tonight the roads were semi dried enough for me to test that out. ECON has no effect on WOT. it runs just as fast with it on... ECON only reworks the throttle/boost limit on partial throttle

Boost/IGN levels were the same in ECON and S

And I'll add that I never use Econ,I can actually get better mileage without using it.Just a worthless icon for the masses.

econ actually works really well when your using the cruise control and accelerating with the steering wheel instead of your foot. you might piss some people off behind you though*
