Nope, still thinking about it. The problem with buying a car towards the top of your budget is it doesn't leave much money for all that kind of stuff :)
No, the Mk7 has been pretty solid thus far. I also am unlikely to have this car for more than 5 years/80,000km. I traded in my Civic with 23,000km on the odometer. I don't drive a whole lot.
Maybe the Si should get the 2.0. I know this unlikely for the 11th gen but the GTI and Golf R both have a 2.0 and they still manage to differentiate between those cars and find a market for both. An Si with tuning potential up to ~300 and a Type R with potential up to the high 300s and beyond...
It's going to be really interesting to see what Honda does with the Si for the 11th gen. I think they should make it a hatchback (or at least an option as a hatchback), give it at least 220whp stock, and improve the interior as much as they can without jumping to a higher price point. The Si...
Gonna drive it stock for a while but there's definitely some tuning in my future! The allure of ~300hp is pretty strong. My first mod is just going to be upgrading the paddle shifters and getting a dashcam.
I haven't taken a lot of pics yet but the colour is Cornflower Blue. I think it was special for the rabbit edition originally but they kept it for the Autobahn for this year (Autobahn is now the only trim you can get as they're finishing out the Mk7.5 and getting ready for the Mk8). The Fender...
Considered it, it's a loooot of money to spend on what would ultimately be a a ton of fun but a pretty poor daily driver in southern ontario. Plus I'm not dropping $50k CAD to drive away with the same shitty infotainment!
Haven't been super active here lately but just wanted to say thanks a ton to this great community (and @charleswrivers in particular for being so willing to share his knowledge with us.) I traded in my 2017 Si Sedan for a new 2021 GTI Autobahn DSG. The Si is a great car but after a few years...
I was driving last night and just thinking how utterly useless LaneWatch is at night, all I can see is headlight lens flare. Gonna be more discerning about this stuff on my next car, it drives me nuts.
I don't get why you want to buy something like a Type R or a Veloster N if you're not going to be tracking it or pushing it in any way. You're going to be paying for a lot of horses and torques that you're not going to use, and the tradeoffs involved in having a car built for tight handling...
Thinking about making this move too, I need something a bit more comfortable. I spend a lot more time going stoplight to stoplight on crappy Ontario roads than I spend cutting around fun back roads. Wish the accord had a hatch trunk though instead of a typical sedan. They could've totally...
Personally if I had that kind of money I would probably lean more into something that offers luxury/comfort while still being fun to drive. If you're set on a Honda the Accord 2.0T might be a better choice and for Type R money I'm pretty sure you could also be getting into Audi A4 or BMW...
Is the Elantra N (aka i30N) coming to North America? There's no Elantra GT N-Line this year which is weird since I always thought the hatchback was the better option.
Hopefully these Hyundais will push Honda to do better with the Civic interior in the next gen. I drove both cars, the...
I feel like a lot of people have never rode shotgun in their own car. The experience of being a passenger in this car sucks. The seat is too low and you feel every bump, dip, and shift way more as the passenger than you do as the driver.
My wife is not a car enthusiast but she loves...
