2016+ Honda Civic Forum (10th Gen) - Type R Forum, Si Forum - CivicX.com
The 2017 Civic Hatchback trim and packaging info has been out for a few weeks, but now it's time to drill down into the nitty gritty.
With information from the online parts and accessories catalog we are able to glean a lot of details about the new Civic hatchback including touch up paints that reveal unique colors specific to the 5-door hatch.
Compatibility (or lack thereof) of certain parts across the Civic X lineup is also becoming clearer, as is the hint of upcoming Honda Factory Performance parts which we are sure to see showcased at the upcoming 2016 SEMA show.
You've seen the press photos, now have a look at the first real life glimpse of the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback in production guise on U.S. shores.
Shown in Sonic Gray in the new Sport Touring trim, the Civic Hatchback was spied looking mighty sharp and aggressive wearing its new color and trim.
All 2017 Civic models (hatchback, sedan and coupe) have earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Both the 2017 Civic Hatchback and Sedan received five stars in the front, side and rollover crash tests, while the 2017 Civic Coupe received five stars in all categories except frontal crash (where it received four stars). But, all 3 Civic models received an overall five-star safety rating.
The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will be arriving in North America this Fall, but that doesn't mean Canada and the U.S. will share the same trims, features or packaging options for the upcoming 5-door version of the Civic X.
As we already learned, there will only be three trims available in Canada and now the full details of what exactly is included in each trim has been revealed by Honda dealers across Canada.
You've all seen the tremendous work done by Hondata for the 1.5L turbo engine, and now we'd like to welcome their team as an official CivicX ELITE Sponsor!

Thanks to a CivicX member's ingenuity, those of you looking for a front lip now have a new option, albeit from an unlikely source -- the Scion FR-S.
Yes, apparently, the Scion FR-S front lip will fit on the 10th gen Civic and we think it looks quite the part. Here's a DIY on the install.
UK publication Auto Express has posted about a potential Civic Type S joining the 10th gen lineup, at least in the UK?
Their basis for this idea? They've already sampled a 201hp version of the 1.5T engine in a test mule in Japan, mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. This is the same engine that outputs 174hp in the standard North American models.
Honda has just announced that the 2017 Civic 5-door hatchback will be arriving this Fall!
It will feature the 1.5-liter turbo engine for all models which will be good for 174 HP/162 LB-FT in LX, EX and EX-L trims and 180 HP/162 LB-FT in the Sport and Sport Touring trims.

Honda is recalling 11,846 2016 Civic Coupes in the U.S. because of a rear light problem.
"Certain taillight assemblies may have a light-emitting diode side marker light circuit board that was damaged during transit from a parts supplier, making the marker light inoperable," Honda said in a statement. "Affected vehicles with an inoperative rear side marker light may have decreased visibility in traffic, increasing the risk of a crash."
Honda said it has received no related customer or dealer reports linked to the recall. Full report inside.
This is the first Civic Coupe featured as our Civic-of-the-Moment. This black pearl EX-T coupe features OEM exhaust tips, aftermarket lighting, Enkei wheels, new badging and some red carbon fiber accents.
The whole black and red theme comes together very nicely on this 2016 Civic Coupe. Check out the build journal inside.
Updated Civic Type R prototypes have been spotted in Europe in the past couple of months and they've shown some interesting updates compared to the first prototypes spied at the end of 2015.
The biggest exterior update is the addition of a hood scoop. New wheels have been fitted, featuring red pin stripes. The outer bumper air inlets now feature several slats. And we spot a covered Type R badge in the front grille on one of the test cars.
There also appears to be HondaSensing cameras/sensors at the top of the front windshield.
Did Automotive News just leak that the 2017 Civic Si will be powered by a 1.5L turbo engine, instead of a 2.0L turbo (de-tuned from the Type R) as has been rumored?
In a recent article covering the upcoming Acura model lineup, a Civic Si 1.5T engine was mentioned for both the ILX and TLX.
So, was this simply Autonews' guess at the upcoming Si's engine, or did they just leak officially known info?? Discuss inside...
Autoexpress reports that a concept model of the all new Civic Type R will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show coming in October! It will be revealed alongside the standard hatchback model which will also be making its debut.
This report includes some new renderings of what Autoexpress believes the 2018 Civic Type R will look like, but to our eyes, this looks more like what the Si model will resemble. We expect the Type R to be styled even more aggressively - as previewed in the Civic Type R spy photos we've posted previously.
