2016+ Honda Civic Forum (10th Gen) - Type R Forum, Si Forum - CivicX.com
Now that the Hondata FlashPro for the 10th gen Civic has been released, real world customer feedback and datalogs are starting to be posted up.
CivicX member dc2turbo shares his impressive FlashPro results, which allowed his 2016 Civic CVT to run a 5.7s 0-60 (93 octane @ 15-17psi)!
Check out dc2turbo's full testing results and datalogs inside.
The world will only be getting an Civic Si coupe and sedan, while the Type R badge will be reserved for the 5 door hatchback Civic. But what would a 3 door hatchback Civic Si have looked like?
A CivicX member takes a shot at imagining this and the result is quite attractive!
The 9th gen Civic Type R owned the Nurburgring lap record for a FWD car until the Golf GTI Clubsport S took the crown in 2016. But, it sounds like Honda won't let that stand and will attempt to reclaim the FWD record with the 10th gen Civic Type R!
When asked, a Honda rep told website Carbuzz "I think it's fair to assume that we'll pursue our own personal best record, and if it beats out other cars that have run the 'Ring, even better." Beating the Golf GTI Clubsport S will require the newest Civic Type R to shave 3 seconds off the 9th gen Civic Type R's lap time.
The concept Civic Type R was presented in a stunning black/gray brushed aluminum finish, but it will not be one of the available finishes for the production 2018 Civic Type R.
Instead, we'll likely see more traditional colors such as white (already spotted), red and/or blue, previews of which have been rendered up here by CivicX member S2000Forever.
We're delighted anytime we see the the 10th gen Civic appear on TV as it builds awareness of the car (plus it's just good eye candy). But Honda would probably not rather not see this type of publicity
A red Civic LX recently led LAPD on a lengthy car chase through the LA-Orange County area, ending up in Santa Fe Springs where the car was finally stopped with a PIT maneuver by pursuing LAPD. Video inside.
Our friends at Hondata will be shipping its latest FlashPro for the 10th generation Honda Civic beginning next week.
The FlashPro allows full user tuning and datalogging for your 2016+ US Civic 1.5 Turbo, allowing you to connect to your Civic's diagnostic port to provide live tuning with a variety of calibrations and extensive real time and stored datalogging capabilities.
Hondata's tests have shown an increase of 10-25 horsepower with increased torque throughout the entire range. The tune has also substantially improved drivability with no change in part throttle economy.

Our friends at Hondata just dynoed a 2017 Honda Civic EX-T with the 1.5L turbo and 6-speed manual transmission. The results were both surprising and promising, and suggests that Honda may have significantly underrated the L15B7 engine in this vehicle.
On 87 octane fuel it made 190-horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque, well above the rated 174-horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque factory rating.
Check out Hondata's video and dyno results in the forum.

The next generation Civic Type R may still be in prototype form but it has just been spotted inching closer to final production-spec.
One lucky CivicX member was quick with his camera phone when he happened upon a white 2017/18 Civic Type R testing on public roads near the Honda Corporate Headquarters in Torrance, California.
Although the Type R badging was covered with white vinyl wrap, the large ducts, rear wing and triple exhaust pipes were unmistakable.
CivicX flew to Sin City to bring you an up close look at the tenth-generation Honda Civic's SEMA coming out party with over nine featured, custom-built Civic sedans, coupes and hatchbacks on display at the Honda booth and throughout the Las Vegas Convention Center floor.
Honda also brought the 2017 Civic Type R Prototype which made its U.S. debut at the show, as well as Team Honda Research West 2017 Honda Civic Coupe Racing Concept (see part 2 of our gallery here).
